Moving License in Online Environment

The following explains how to move licenses between EDIUS terminals in the online environment.

1) Start up GV LicenseManager on the move source EDIUS terminal.

2) Select products to deactivate licenses in the [License List] dialog box.

3) Click [Online deactivation], and click [Yes].

  • Access the activation server automatically and deactivate the licenses.

4) Start up EDIUS on the move destination EDIUS terminal.

5) Enter the serial number, and click [Register].

  • The license authentication is performed.

6) A message appears, and click [OK].

Note

  • eID activation is not necessary when unregistering the serial number.

Transferring License in Online Environment

Move licenses between offline EDIUS terminals via another PC in the online environment.

  • To transfer a license in the offline environment, a storage device such as USB memory device is necessary.

    This section describes the procedure to transfer a license using a USB memory device.

Note

  • To register the serial number to a new PC on which EDIUS is to be used, online activation of eID is required.

Unregistering License (Offline Activation)

Deactivate your license on the EDIUS terminal in the offline environment.

1) Connect a USB memory device to the PC where EDIUS is installed.

2) Start up GV LicenseManager.

3) Click [Offline Deactivation Create ID File].

4) Select the USB memory device as the export destination in the [Destination for ID File] dialog box, and click [Select Folder].

5) A confirmation message appears, then click [OK].

6) Disconnect the USB memory device, and connect it to a PC that is connected to the Internet.

7) Open the USB memory device on the explorer and double-click GVDeactivation.exe.

8) A message [Do you wish to deactivate the license?] appears, then click [Yes].

9) A confirmation message appears, then click [OK].

  • Disconnect the USB memory device.

10) Connect the USB memory device to the previous EDIUS terminal, and start up GV LicenseManager.

11) Select products to deactivate licenses in the [License List] dialog box.

12) Click [Offline Deactivation Register Activation File].

13) Open the USB memory device, specify “Response.key”, and then click [Open].

14) A confirmation message appears, then click [OK].

15) Check that EDIUS has been removed from the license list on the [License List] dialog box, and then exit GV LicenseManager.

Note

  • eID activation is not necessary when unregistering the serial number.

Activate your license on the EDIUS terminal in the offline environment.

1) Connect a USB memory device to the PC where EDIUS is installed.

2) Start up GV LicenseManager.

3) Click [Offline Activation Create ID File].

4) Enter the serial number of EDIUS, and click [OK].

5) Select the USB memory device as the export destination in the [Destination for ID File] dialog box, and click [Select Folder].

6) A confirmation message appears, then click [OK].

7) Disconnect the USB memory device from the PC, and connect it to a PC that is connected to the Internet.

13) Open the USB memory device, specify “Response.key”, and then click [Open].

14) A confirmation message appears, then click [OK].

15) Check that EDIUS has been activated and registered to the list on the [License List] dialog box, and then exit GV LicenseManager.

EDIUS ID

EDIUS ID is a online ID function to link the possessed EDIUS license to the user. The security of the license will be more secure and the uniqueness of the license will be secured by linking the serial number and EDIUS ID at the time of first activation of the serial number.

Also, the information of the possessed serial number can be browsed any time in the membership website “EDIUS ID Web” that can be logged in with EDIUS ID.

Creating EDIUS ID

Note

  • Use EDIUS ID after fully understanding this manual and the precautions on the Web.

  • Recommended environment of EDIUS ID Web is as follows.

    • Browser: Internet Explorer 9, Internet Explorer 10, Firefox, Chrome

1) Display the EDIUS ID Web login page.

  • Access to following URL.

2) Click [EDIUS ID registration].

  • The information registration screen is displayed.

3) Enter the required items and register.

  • Preliminary registration acceptance screen is displayed, and preliminary registration completion e-mail describing the procedure to permanently register is delivered to the registered e-mail address.

Note

  • Make sure to use an e-mail address and password to register different from the ones for other ID services. The e-mail address and password used in multiple services will have higher risk for unauthorized access.

  • The registered e-mail address and password are sensitive information that should never be disclosed to others. In case they have leaked, immediately change your e-mail address and password. We are not liable for the leakage of the e-mail address and password not related to this system.

  • The preliminary registration completion e-mail is valid for 48 hours. Complete the permanent registration within 48 hours. The information registered with preliminary registration is deleted when it is not completed within 48 hours.

  • The e-mail address that has been registered in the past cannot be used.

4) Click the permanent registration URL described in the e-mail.

  • The permanent registration will complete, and the permanent registration completion screen is displayed. Registration of EDIUS ID is completed.

EDIUS ID Web

Various membership functions such as confirmation of serial number and acquiring of trial version can be used by logging in to EDIUS ID Web.

Login

1) Display the EDIUS ID Web login page.

2) Enter [E-mail] and [Password], and click[Login].

  • Enter the e-mail address entered during the EDIUS ID registration in the [E-mail] field.

  • Enter the password entered during the EDIUS ID registration in the [Password] field.

  • My page is displayed after successful login, allowing to use the various membership site functions.

  • If you have forgotten the e-mail address or the password, click [Forgot your email address or password?] and reset them following on-screen instructions.

My page is the page that is displayed after the login. The serial number information linked to EDIUS ID can be confirmed.

Displays the product name.
